so I am reading RGP,and saw the above header to a thread.I started reading it expecting a slagging of RBION and all saying STTNG is best.

All subjective anyway I know as one mans turd is anothers gem.

Owned STTNG for about 7 years, and it went in 2010 IIRC.Owned RBION NIB since about 2005.Like it.Loved RBION from when it first came out and played it at Nicks Monster Meets (miss them:()

I've never played or even seen RBION...hopefully they'll be one at the Slam next year so I can give it a go.

Never cared for STTNG ..in fact its for a long time been in my 'Top 3 Least Liked 90s Tables', along with No Fun and Theatre Of Tragic. Always felt like a great big clunky slog when I played one. However I recently have been thinking I may re assess it - maybe borrow one for a bit and give it a chance.

Ripleys is a fun game. Another packed Lawlor playfield. I think if this title had been released under the Williams/Bally name it would get even more love.

We had one at the Slam last yr, so hopefully

RBION every time, I played it twice when it came out at the TCR Casino, then didn't see it again until late 2009 and bought one almost blind. No regrets at all.

At my local flipperclub there's always been a STTNG and I hardly ever play it. It has lovely SR flow, and is beautifully executed, but the ball gets lost on the wide open playfield and there too much stuff above the unfriendly outlanes.

It's interesting that on RGP they're a few people saying RBION has deep rules. It doesn't seem that way to me, as far as I can tell the general idea is to visit all the continents and collect the letters (impossble for me). Theres a few other bits going on with the jewel grid, bigfoot and penguins, but they're more sideways stuff rather than depth. Maybe I'm just used to it.

That said I've not really played it to death yet and had the glass off to try and work out what's really going on and the Pinball News review isn't that detailed regarding the rules and there's quite a few things it doesn't cover.

My high score so far is 37 million on 5 ball, not much really, I really need to see someone decent play it to give me some ideas.

I own a ST:TNG and have only played RBION a few times (Eddie's at the Welsh Classic)

I think I prefer RBION although maybe I havent played it enough to be used to it.

RBION seems to have stolen a lot of the nice features from a load of tables and put them together on one table (it has a Shadow inner sanctum lock for instance) Its kinda like a best of album
