Hello all, over the past few years I am suffering with my hands - I now have trigger finger in two fingers on my left hand and arthritis starting off. Not great news for a musician and a technician.

I have seen many different wire strippers on the market. Sometimes I need to strip small cables like on ribbon cables - and sometimes cable as large as twin and earth electrical cable.

I currently use ones that look like this - but they are a bit of a pain as you have to reset the screw all the time.

I need something that is portable, and does not require plugging into any power. So a hand tool.

Do not mind buying a couple of different ones, one for electrical jobs (larger cables) and one for electronics.

Any recommendations/makes etc.

My tools get a lot of use (she squealed) so I do not mind paying out for good stuff that is not pound shop quality.

Thank you in advance!

I've got these - had them for many years. Spot on. Think your meant to be able to crimp with them too - but I have ratcheting crimpers for that.

I never got on with strippers myself, tried a few. Always did it with side cutters or a blade but if you are struggling you need to find something decent.
Ive not used Pressmasters strippers but have their crimpers which are really good, I’m betting their strippers are good too so worth a look.

I am with you on that, used to doing things with side cutters since I was an apprentice many many moons ago.
But now I need to go for the easier life and use an automatic type of stripper.

Some cutters I have tried, even expensive ones can sometimes take some cores away when stripping stranded cable. I need to avoid this.

I used the cheap ones years ago and they gave me grief and broke so gave up on them so I’m out of touch with them obviously😂
Hope you find something that you get on with🤞And let us know.
