Just to show how out of touch I've become;
I just idly made a fleabay search for an old radio-cassette that I've had for ages, and the listings for similar ones (and a half-size version with only one speaker) mention it as the "Stranger Things boom box". Apart from the description boom box, which I can't really concur with, I was surprised. The last time I saw one was in the artwork, both backglass (translite, if we're being particular) and flyer for the Premier/Gottlieb 'Spring Break', a game I've never even actually seen, still less played. Looking at the Stranger Things pin, I see it's not represented on the playfield, a la Road Show.
Thinking, though, maybe it's not so much 'become'. Another instance of this is one of our family cars. For the second half of the 70's, our family car was a Ford Consul, with optional sports wheels. It was at least the late 80's before I became aware that a similar car featured in hard-bitten London police series The Sweeney.
