I had one of these go and managed to repair it (not only did I not want to spend £9 on a new one, more importantly I didn't want to wait for a new one to be delivered). You can drill out the rivet, then it comes apart in two halves. If I remember rightly there are only 2-3 very simple parts inside it, including a small spring (which was dislodged on mine) - re-arrange the parts, put the sides back together, then the screw that attaches it to the machine holds both sides together (no need for a new rivet).
