I love old rare Sterns like this. Got myself a Galaxy project that is in probably more of a state than that one. Put a lot of time and effort into it, but it's getting there.

550 euros is probably on the high side though

I'd be all over it like a rash. Love it. I don't know anything about it in terms of rarity but looking on IPDB there were just over 4,000 made, which in terms of numbers and era puts it in the same boat as the likes of Embryon, Centaur, Devil's Dare, Fathom, Mystic, etc., all of which you could probably find in working condition for that price. Maybe being a Stern not as many have survived? Personally I'd only consider it at or below half that price - especially when you know he's flipped it for €200 extra! If the MPU really is beyond repair (they are relatively easy to fix but if the ROMs are toast could be tricky) than that's going to set you back £60 (about €75) straight away.
