Stern Shooter Rod

What holds the plastic handle on a Stern shooter rod, is it screwed or glued on? I've found somewhere that can create the amber 'egg' with insect so was toying with the idea of buying a shooter rod to screw/glue it to like the official Stern Jurassic Park one.

Usually hacksaw a slot in the plastic and twist it off or hit it with a hammer and shatter it. Basically get medieval with it.
