This got thrown in at the last minute to sweeten a deal on a pair of Bally VECTOR machines plus a load of other bits. After a little research (because there's nothing on the playfield itself to indicate what it is) I discovered this is a Stern CATACOMB from 1981. So, basically I've never seen or heard of this game before, and don't recall it ever being mentioned on here, but it looks pretty cool from the IPDB info as it has a mini-game flipper thing built into the backglass.
Anway, the playfield itself is kinda ok. Better than my GOLD BALL and that come up alright after some TLC with a Magic Eraser and IPA. There are two small circles of mylar around the pop bumper holes. All inserts are level and tight except the centre SUPER BONUS which is also where the worst wear is located - there's also a patch on the on the hot babes' manacle! The top star rollover is present and moves freely.
One thing I really like about this playfield is in the areas hidden by the plastics it has symbols indicating the sizes of the adjacent rubber rings! What a clever idea! I'd keep it for a piece of wall art but I'm super-broke after massive car repair bill so it's time to sell some stuff.
£30 and I can bring it to NLP.
