I know a few people were after a stapler the other day now this is your chance.....

In a moment of retardness the other day thinking my stapler had broken after only using one strip of staples I contacted the place I bought it from and they are sending me a replacement and I can despose of the "faulty" one. Well....... It seems id forgotten that you don't put the staples on the pull out springie thing like most you lay them in the trough it pushes into if you put it on the springie thing it doesn't work.... Doh! So in a day or so I will have a brand new one up for grabs.
This is a decent Stanley stapler £35+ in the likes of B&Q. It takes the correct factory size staples for pins

£20 + 5 postage

Sorry but this is not cool IMO. If you have pulled a stroke like that you should at least keep it to yourself.
As the owner of a small retail business I cannot tell you how infuriating it is when people like you rob from me in this kind of way.
But hey, I'm sure they can afford it so who cares, right?

Reactions: JT.
In situations likes this, it worth thinking about the karma cost. They had good customer service but are losing out to correct your mistake.
Someone will obviously like to benefit from the situation but it does feel wrong.

Give the stapler to someone, they then give the money to charity.

Karma partially restored. 'Look like a cocnut' lingers on.

For your information I was going to return the one that I thought was broken back to them but they just told me to bin it. Surely would of made more sence to send it back to their supplier and get reimbursed? That is surely bad business. And they had sent the new one b4 I figured it wasnt broken. So I don't see as me selling it on to someone else is wrong? Now I think about it (still don't think I was wrong tho) if anyone wants it make a donation to The forum instead

Sorry Rudi but we will never agree on this subject I doubt.

The reason they told you to bin it was because you told them it was faulty. Sometimes it is not worth the expense to have an item returned when it's faulty and cannot be re-sold. Whatever happened after that doesn't really matter as you could have told them you realised you had made a mistake. But you didn't.

Don't get me wrong, I'm sure a hell of a lot of people would have done exactly the same as you and kept quiet but it is still shady practice whichever way you spin in.

Just not sure why you had to tell everybody. Why didn't you just put up a for sale ad and keep quiet about how you acquired it? It doesn't make you look good IMO.
Would you have done the same thing if it was an item from one of the pinball parts suppliers...

Anyway, rant over. No point arguing over it.
