Hey,
Going to Flip out in two weeks but taking two other friends.
Usually when I go with my other half we just play machines we like and are learning and try to beat each other or high scores.

I was thinking of having something slightly more structured with my friends. I could have sworn on the Flip Out website a few days ago it said that the host could give out scorecards and pick tables so you could have a casual tournament with your friends but can't find it on the site anymore.
Is that still something that is offered? (i just remembered it's not on the website but on the wall at Flip out)

Or does anyone have a google sheet/excel doc that could be used for recording scores?
I have a badly made one i record my own on but why reinvent the wheel?

Thanks
David

I eagerly await!

Being new to pinball in this way, how does it usually work? Is it whoever wins on a best of three?

With only four people I expect we could do just a short one, i don't intend for it to take over the whole afternoon, afterall a bit of playing what you want and enjoying all the machines has to be done [emoji16]

I would have thought a league type score would be easiest.

if 4 people, highest score on a particular machine gets 4 points, second highest 3 points etc
just need to add up the points at the end to see who wins.

could even use the bonus point rule where if a players highest score on a machine is more than double the next highest the player gets a Bonus point (so 5 in total)

Our usual league sheet at Flipout probably can do it.

The points idea sounds best.
I'm ok at Excel but not great, if there's a way i can see a version of the flip out league sheet to copy and see how the formulas work it would be appreciated [emoji16]

Sure, No problem.

Enter mahines, player names and scores in the data entry tab - scores and results are in the overall sorted tab.
Scoring is as Ian has mentioned above (without the bonus point).

Formulawise - its probably a bit more complicated than it needs to be just to get the results - Its adapted from a previous one for a completely different format, and has some extra bits for live updating on the big screen - but should be basically plug and play if you ignore the extra tabs.

There's also some trophies kicking around at Flip Out for the winners to pose with! (thanks @thelab and @Mike Parkins )
