before I make a couple myself does anyone know where you can get some of these from?

I don't think I've seen those before, are they supposed to be on all spinner mechs?

Talking of spinners, I heard Steve Ritchie mention in a TOPcast that he advised adding a microdrop of some lubricant or other to spinners to get the best possible movement, can anyone shed any light on that - add what and exactly where?

They are only on older games Dan. They stop the metal rod shown in the picture moving (and jamming) on the cranked section. All your new fangled games have micro switches on the spinners. I would leave them un-lubricated. Dust etc will stick to lubricant making it gum up and also wear faster.

If you can't get any Steve I can make these at work for you in minutes if your interested
thanks for the kind offer,I could also make them, just wondered if anywhere sold them,or anyone had a couple spare

yep it's for the spinner on my gorgar, very ocassionally it jams due to having no plastic washers in place

If you have another spinner take one of the washers off (use it on the spinner with them missing) and leave one on the cranked side, it will get you out off trouble until you get hold of some :)

Re. the use (or not) of these washers; I think it depends on where the switch is mounted. A game like Star Trek Next Gen doesn't need them (or the connecting rod), since the micro-switch is fitted directly onto the spinner bracket, whereas a game with the switch under the playfield, e.g. Earthshaker, does.

An easy cheat to really make the spinners really spin - polish the metal with solvol autosol to remove tarnish/ corrosion, then use GT85.

This is dry teflon in a spray can. The solvent evaporates away, so this is NOT WD40 with oil/ gunk issues

Transforms them. Just put the smallest visible amount of gt85 you can on the three metal to metal touch points on the mech above the playfield.
