Spiderman sandman opto

Hi all. I have just shopped my Spiderman and now the sandman opto seems stuck on. If I break the beam the score stops.
It’s as if the opto is stuck on with a bright red light one side and the reciever the other.

Any ideas please what could be wrong? I have not disconnected anything.

Trying to get ready for a meet next Saturday.

Usually my course of action with optos

Switch test - See if it's functional...press any other switch then see if the opto auto triggers after that switch is pressed. or does does it stay on once triggered when you break the beam.

Cotton bud clean the opto on each side

Make sure they are aligned correctly through the holes

Report back... might be old and need new optos which are cheap enough

I have tried in switch test and stuck on.
Tried realigning them and now all good.
Another pin saved to play.
