Hi guys, hope you all had a good weekend.

can anyone help me price an HOU Simpson’s pinball party.
Very very clean pinball machine, looking to buy it.
Thanks

3.5 - 4k - theres one on gumtree atm, proceed with caution though, smells like kedgeree

Thanks James, that’s the one I am on at the minute but what do you mean by ‘smells like kedgeree’

Smells a bit fishy, proceed with caution - don't transfer any money before having it in the back of the van, inspect the so called corosion etc.

Oh thanks, bit of a blonde moment on that one lol.
appreciate your help as always

"Minor corrosion on the motherboard, but should be easy enough to fix with a couple of wire traces."

Sounds like a get out of jail free card. Sounds like it's battery damage, I would expect to have to buy a new motherboard.

Which knocks out the savings potentially to be had, I know someone who needed a new board for similar era machine, to say it was a right PITA is an understatement...

I would say £4-4500k depending on upgrades. But I wouldn't buy anything off Gumtree as a general rule. Mine is likely to be up for sale soon with Colour DMD. Just waiting to make a house buying decision. So might be worth waiting, although I might keep it, not sure yet.

I wouldn’t touch it.

Absolutely.

I know it's exciting shopping for a pinball (everyone does), you feel like a kid a Christmas again and the money is burning a hole in your pocket.

As frustrating as it is it's best to wait and get a machine from a known member on here who others will vouch for.

Yep +1 on that Star Trek, would say bargain basement price but it’s what they command and what it’s worth. £800 extra will get you a phenomenal Aerosmith. Those two are the stand outs for where the value is on the for sale section for me at the moment.

I was the biggest fan of Aerosmith back in the 90's. I had every album...and there were a lot! Even back then it was a bit uncool. Aerosmith pinball machine has zero appeal for me.

I have been talking to the Gumtree seller, its also up a flight of stairs and he said I would have to bring the help.
He sent me a pic of the battery damage, will need a bit of work, have no idea what the rest of it is like as I have no way of getting a pin out on my own, so didnt ask any more questions.

Aerosmith is a cracking game and I'd prefer that over ST, it's the same playfield layout as kiss which tends to be well regarded on pinballinfo.

Looks like a home use pin in mint condition !
I have asked for pics of the side and playfield which for some reason do not get sent.

Mine is going up for sale on Sunday if I get chance to take some photos. Will be asking about £4400 with colour DMD, armoured side rails. Non skill post, no playfield wear as far as I can see. Playing faultlessly. Hard to know if the cabinet artwork is faded or not as it looked faded when new. Great game, terrible terrible cabinet artwork.

Somebody has offered £2500 so far for the Gumtree one, he has said if I go highter I can have it, but I am not getting into those sort of games.

Hi, not gonna lie to you but it was me who offered him the 2.5k he accepted the offer and was gonna video call me with the cab, then told me it was from a Norwegian number???? Never heard from him since and that was 2 days ago. Deffo a scam. Thanks for looking out for me.

@Trace - if you seriously want a pin, buy one from the forum:

- Trusted sellers (mainly)
- Looked after pins (mainly)
- Market Price (mainly)

You will tie yourself up in knots looking for the next bargain, there's some seasoned pros on here that lock this schtuk down quick, know exactly what they are buying, what its worth, how to pick it up, turn up in a van with a packet full of notes. The deals done before you've even contemplated what a Simpsons (et al) machine is worth.

If you do happen upon a bargain, it probably won't be what you actually want and it will all be for nowt. Write a list, what are the top 5 (10?) games you want, ask their value on the what's it worth thread and put the feelers out.

Of course, you may just love the thrill of the chase and hunting out that bargain, which more power to you sir, but if you want a pin, that's my reccomendation. Trust me, once you get one, you won't look back :)

@Trace I will be listing a Stern 24 soon, Topper, Side Blades, Comet LEDs , Pin2DMD, Speaker lights and inserts, and I've just fitted a Shaker motor to it.
Was bought from a well know member off here and is in great condition i can send details over if interested
