One thing I do like about this hobby at the moment is all the small guys producing stuff at home and selling it to us.
And I do not mind that we have delt via a messenger app to make the order.

Where I have a problem is, is after they have gotten access to your private messaging, they will then cold-message me,
"It has been 6 months since you last ordered, do you need more?"
"I see you were discussing brackets on a FaceBook page. You realizes I sell them"

Do others get these messages?
Do you appreciate them?
Or am i over-reacting?

I don't get them, but that would irritate me. If there was no obvious way to unsubscribe from their mailing list (don't quote me, but I think that's a legal obligation in the UK and EU), I'd block them in my email client.

Given the size of the community, I expect they have read this message ;).
There is a fine line between helpful and intrusive. If you don’t have that relationship with the seller, then it can feel the latter.
My go to UK seller and I do chat, so I don’t mind them messaging me.

If it bothers you, you could just ask them to stop. It’s obviously part of their business development strategy and trying to build / maintain relationships with their customers, but it won’t appeal to everybody.

I've had this an it's been a great help. There's been items I've talked about but couldn't find (due to bad search functions or Google), then I get a message saying they stock the item and I'm chuffed 😄 saved me money multiple times
