With the generous support of Phil @ Pinball Heaven and Kirk @ Tilt, I am delighted to announce that this year's Shine Charity Pinball Comp will take place on November 27th @ Tilt in Birmingham.

As in previous years, entry is gained by making a minimum £10 donation to the Shine Charity. This can be made in person on the day or here:

https://www.justgiving.com/fundraising/Shed4Shine

The main competition will be held on 14 machines which all players will have the opportunity to put a score onto with the top 16 qualifying for head to head knock out. There will also be a high score comp and a raffle.

There will be prizes and trophies for the winners including best female and all Junior's will receive a medal so please feel free to bring the family.

If you are able to donate a prize for the raffle then please contact me, it's all for a good cause!

A machine list will be released nearer to the time, but you can expect it to include the latest titles courtesy of Pinball Heaven.

There are more details including directions to Tilt available here:

As always, thank you all for your generous support.

Matt

Looking forward to hosting this comp and raising as much cash as possible for Shine.

If anyone has any logistical questions like transport, hotels and anything else that comes to mind... Feel free to email directly at kirk@tiltbrum.com

For those not familiar with the venue, the current machine line up is:

Monster Bash
Medieval Madness
The Addams Family
Star Wars

Iron Man
Family Guy

Looking forward to this one, will the first event this year I've managed to get to
(moving out of London has made the selfie league a bit more difficult to do regularly!)

Looks like the lineup will now be

Hobbit LE
Ghostbusters Premium
Ghostbusters Pro
Game of Thrones Premium
Lord of the Rings
Attack from Mars
Monster Bash
Medieval Madness
The Addams Family
Full Throttle
Indiana Jones
Iron Man
Family Guy
Spiderman

Matt, what time is this likely to run to? Also, is it easy to get to from New Street Station. Don't really fancy driving if the train is a quicker option

Qualifying runs to 5pm with quarters, semis and finals to run after. Have book a train to leave at 21.15 back to Preston just incase :)

Do I need to do anything to register for this? Or is it just turn up?

Neil

A bit of an update as we get closer to the event.

I shall be bringing my Tron LE along for the high score competition. Entries will be £1 a go with a trophy to the winner and medals for all under 16 players.

We have had some raffle prizes kindly donated, but I am still hoping to get more together. If you are able to offer any prize or gift then please send me a pm.

Whilst entries on the day will be accepted, if you know that you are attending then paying for you entry via the just giving site makes claiming gift aid much simpler

Thanks as always for your generous support!

Any advice on where is best to park (for free?) on a Sunday, Kirk?

THAT FLASH GORDON PRINT SHALL BE MINE!!

Cheers, Craig

There's a carpark here

https://goo.gl/maps/4mkDN1EBaHK2

which they've recently taken the meters out of, so I suspect it's earmarked for development, but it's a good freebie in the meantime with only a 10 minute walk down the main drag (Corporation Street) to get to Tilt.

If you take the A38 "Aston Expressway" into the city and take the exit at Aston University you'll come to the old firestation roundabout. Take the first exit and follow the road round to the second set of lights. You can turn right through the carriageway at these lights to access the carpark entrance on the other side of the road.

It looks derelict (it is...) but you can get in and you'll see other cars parked.

Opposite is an NCP at £15 a day if you prefer..... [emoji33] [emoji88]

See you there!

Tim

Firstly, I would like to thank all those that have generously made donations on our just giving page. Your support has been fantastic and I'm looking forward to a great event at Tilt on Sunday.

Secondly, if you have made a donation today in order to purchase raffle tickets, please contact me as there has been an anonymous donation requesting raffle tickets.

Thanks Matt

Awesome day, thanks to Matt and Sarah for all there hard work. And of course to Kirk, such an awesome venue, everyone needs to get themselves along to Tilt.

Left before the end due to being knocked out, my money is on Vin for the win!!!!

Great event. Thanks to Tilt for hosting and to Matt and everyone who helped organise and run it, hopefully it doesn't finish too late if it hasn't already by now.

I played like an utter spenk but the beer was more than worth it :)

They had just started the final when we left. Eta at mine is 12:40, rich has another 40 mins, Greg 50 mins.
