Am I right in thinking all modern Sterns now have code to run shaker motors?

It always niggles me that there is a feature that I don’t get to experience (Much like coin drop noises 😉)so last week I decided to stop being such a tight wad and bought a few motors to install.

Some games certainly lend themselves to motors better than others.

Elvira. Guess it’s early days but nothing to write home with for me. I’d hope that it will later synch to the crate multiball opening etc

iron maiden. Loved it, seems to be very well integrated especially with the sarcophagus shot.

Game of thrones. Surprised how well it works. Pushes back whenever you hit the battering ram 😀Also seems to be largely tied to the dragon features.

Metallica. Did this one a while ago and didn’t really feel any benefit.

TWD. I love a motor in this one, especially if you reach Horde.

Alice Cooper. (Ok it’s not a stern). Paid to have one installed in the factory. Should have saved this cash as it adds pretty much nothing apart from shaking the machine to a ridiculous degree on the hurry up shot.

Not yet tried one in ACDC or Aerosmith.

Anyone else found ones that work really well or fall short?

Roadshow was pretty good.
LOTR when you destroy the ring shakes it like crazy but works well in other places.
Ive just bought TWD and need to get one, I saw pinball universe sell a Stern one, is that plug and play?
Edit - Pinball heaven sell them

The only machine that I've come across with shaker support that really was a waste of a shaker motor was CSI. At first I thought the shaker wasn't working at all until I finally discovered the one time it operated which iirc ( its been gone about 4 years ) was when collecting jackpots in multiball, the rest of the time it did absolutely nothing.

I think (but may well be wrong) that the new Elvira code sets it to medium. i think I read this in the code list and it spurred me on to buy a motor.

I still think that the motors and toppers should come as standard on the LEs.

When I had a roadshow I had to disconnect the motor as it was in the shed. Everytime it went off the walls were literally shaking.

I've read good things about the shaker motor support via pinsound. Does anybody know how the "shaking" is configured with this kit? Thanks.

All stern LEs have come with shaker motors.

When did that change Neil? I’ve got a LE GOT and LE TWD and neither came with them. Did they up their game when the LCD games came out?

Yeah must be - my Batman 66 LE was the first and all LEs since have had shakers.

All the CGC LEs came with shakers also.

I took mine out of Metallica as it really was pathetic (didn‘t think about turning it up for some reason). Currently repurposed inside a coffin to scare the **** out of trick or treaters.

Got le is awesome with the shaker when you have tagerian mode going and it’s shaking to the noise of the dragon flapping its wings and the topper is going too it’s mega

I had one in TWD for a week or two but I just found it annoying and distracting, so it went on eBay.

Have one in Musters LE that rattles your teeth, which I love! Disappointed in the one in my Hobbit as it’s mediocre and nobody can tell me why the maximum setting has a ‘warning’ notice and if they’ve tried it on there?

For me GB has been the best integration and Although our IMDN has one I think it’s really poor in comparison.
Notable for me apart from GB are
TH - excellent
GOTG - works really well
DP - awesome
BKsor - awesome
IM - a little over the top and shakes the nuts and bolts out of your pin but still excellent
ST - awesome

Meh!
WOZ - rubbish don’t bother

My take

I have a couple of brand new shakers bought from Phil Dixon that I still haven't made use of if anyone would like them?
