I’ve not been on the forum for long but I’ve been in to pins for years and some pricing nowadays? I can’t get my head around the increase. Dose it run inline with the housing market 🤯

It's either

a) people buying high and wanting to get there money back to fund a new purchase

b) people seeing what some others are prepared to pay and hoping to cash in on the increase in popularity and disposable income in recent times

c) rossco

Pinflation is WAY higher than house inflation. 😢

It’s got to the stage where I’m no longer looking to buy or sell. The last 18 months have been absolutely crazy in terms of price increases.

Can't stand this pinflation, iv always sold a machine for exactly what iv paid for it even if it put $$$ into it repairing it or replacing plastics etc.. People need to share the love a little more and not always be after a quick buck! Just stinging your self further down the road.

Dropping my offer to £1499.99 now after all these comments :D
well if you find a fully working Twister for £1499 I’ll give you £2500 for it, unless like others have said you’d sell it for what you paid buying it regardless of any more costs / repairs you have made to it then I’ll give you £1499👍

Hi John I don’t see the logic here, if you have to buy higher, the pinball you are selling will sell higher, or am I missing something here?

Yup if i ever found one for £1500 LOL I would 100% sell it on for £1500 once i'm bored of it :) I think there are still a few people not trying to push up prices around here :)

The only pin owners benefiting from increased prices is if they sell their collection. Buy higher / sell higher, traders have to buy higher to obtain machines (like the price of second hand cars now🥴). Trader profits on the sales is no difference they just need to invest more money to obtain and keep the stock. I’d prefer prices to stabilise for sure, supply and demand is the issue like the 2nd car market… we aren’t going to change it unfortunately 🥴

If you’re making 10% margin though you’d make £100 when a game is priced at £1000 but £250 when it’s priced at £2500?

Surely when prices are higher there is a lot more scope to make a lot more money anyway, especially if taking advantage of a lower price charged by someone wanting to ’keep it in the hobby’ and then flipping the game for a much higher price.

I‘m not saying anyone on this thread would do that but we all know that it does happen, and it certainly has happened to me in the past.

Spot on we have people always moaning about the prices from years back but if you had moaned about it and bought a nib game 3 years ago you would be in the money the problem occurs when the market takes a turn for the worse and it will the government and banks can’t keep printing money that’s when times get hard people sell there luxuries and the seller market out weight s the buyer market and you are then competing against others it’s the same in every market but if you have paid silly money for something expect a big loss
I have bought and sold very little this year other than nib games
That’s mainly due to the hefty rise in stuff across the board
I think that the sell it what you paid for it is nuts really I mean I paid £2500 for my medieval madness in the 2000 I would be absolutely bonkers to sell it for that now
I also think people should not feel bad about selling something and making money provided the item is described as it should be and you are not having anyone s pants down
I sold my ehoh this year for 13k the most expensive pin I have ever sold but I didn’t force anyone to buy it in fact the opposite lots of people waned it the buyer was made up with it yes I did make a profit but why should I feel bad he is happy and so am I
