Alright gents. Where can I get some mirror blades for my Baywatch? Got no idea what will and won't fit in terms of Stern, Williams etc and can't seem to find any Sega specific ones beyond the ones on Pinballshop.nl, however Baywatch is not listed as compatible and having emailed them they say they seem to fit some and not others. Anyone know where I can get some?

I would have expected the sega ones to be the right size and shape for the cabinet as pinballshop.nl list them as compatible with batman forever and maverick which were also large dmd sega. But here are two things that I could see that would prevent the sega ones fitting on a baywatch withiut some modification. The first is that there is a black shroud with 2 flashers attached to the cabinet at top right. This fits snug against the right side wall of the cabinet and is stapled in place the same as the top glass channel. As it is snug to the side of the cabinet you wouldn't be able to get the mirror blade in. But simple solution would be to take the shroud off, install the mirror blade and then reinstall the shroud a few mm to the left. On your machine this will be easy as the shroud is held in place with screws not the usual staples as I modified when the shroud was off for cleaning behind.

Second issue is that there is a screw on the lazer kick coil that sticks out and easily marks the cabinet side in that area as it sticks out beyond the metal playfield side rails. So either that screw needs some adaptation or you need to protect the mirror blades every time you raise or lower the playfield and also be very careful when doing so.

So it may be worth the risk of buying a set of the sega ones which should be the right shape for the cabinet and modify what gets in the way of installing them.

Have you asked pinballshop.nl whether they know exactly what the issue is?

Paul

Thanks Paul. Absolutely superb Baywatch knowledge! Ended up grabbing some from Xianek who assures me they'll fit/can be adjusted. Will send pics when installed!

Andy, I’m interested to see how they fit. I’ve got an idea. You take the initial risk, do all the testing and fudging about. Get it perfectly sorted then I’ll copy you 🤣🤣🤣

Haha no problem mate, I'm on it. Would you be okay to buy a Pin2DMD, tell me if it's crap on Baywatch and if it is I'll buy the Colour DMD version 😂

Ah superb. Would you be able to do a vid at some point? Doesn't seem to be a lot of footage online

Cheers dude that'd be brilliant. It's a nightmare game to strip isn't it. I LEDed mine the other day, took forever (and naturally I missed a GI bulb).

It really is mate. I’ve got to led mine as well. Yours looks great for it though. Except that 1 incandescent. Completely ruins it 🤣🤣

im just led my gi lamps....what a fkn bad design...on a batman forever...striping down whole playfield. got 2xsmds of ali express 38p each and flashers 28p each, only 2 weeks to door. next is pin2dmd. really popping now, did playfield with correct colours. was going to get rid after dmd controller fixed..but its looking to nice to go, had this 20yrs...part of the family...for now 😂

I have installed Stern mirror blades in a Baywatch

I also have all the files for WMS and Stern which I sell for $25 - 8 sets on a 4 x 8" sheet
