I advertised online for one of these for some time as I wanted to convert one to vinyl.
The thing is with these - The Games Room Company who own Rock Ola value these on their site for £6,500. You wonder they went bust owing 2.4 million ehh with these prices....
They are old machines and use technology that Rock Ola no longer support. I was offered one from the states for $800. I could of got it back from the US in a friends container that wouldnt of cost me that much. Plus the VAT when it lands and a few quid in my pals pocket.
A friend in the trade said he had 3 of them NIB in 2010 and he got less than a grand each. A lot thought they were too bulky for home use, I actually like them. He jokingly refereed to them 'like those thunderbird pinballs you trying to sell me'.
In October 2024 these are going to be a hard sell unless its cheap as chips. These and the Rowe Ami Laserstars are fabulous sounding machines but you can barely give htem away.
I do not think one currently would make £1500 on ebay. In the last year I have not got anymore than £3K for bubbler jukeboxes which in reality is why I tend to shy away from them now.
Depends if your pal bought it for £6.5K or bought one of the NIB ones of my pal in the trade for a grand.....
As we know in this business, it is common to find folks who sell on ebay and marketplace that think as a large company sells a Judge Dredd for £7K there one is worth that.
