On my Roadshow, I had a broken plastic that sits on top of the Dozer lift in front of Ted's face. Looking around it looks like you can only buy this in a set for some ridiculous price, so I thought about recreating it and 3D printing it. Weirdly I have seen different types of this plastic on machines, some are even yellow.
After many designs, tests, scans, drawings and prints, I finally have the plastic the right size and shape in two variations - a clear PLA and a grey version. See them below. Next, I need to drill holes where it's fixed to the dozer, and then I'll decide whether I want it clear, whether I create some decals or whether I spray it yellow. The plastics look a bit rough in the image as it's quite a close up, but once sprayed or recalled they'll be fine I'm sure. Great thing about PLA is it's pretty tough stuff.
