Ridiculous shipping quotes from US

Aye, bought some repro sf2 artwork for an arcade cabinet and the shipping and customs charges were ridiculous

Unjustifiable. UPS, DHL and FedEx can be expensive for express shipments (but not too bad, considering) but USPS is about $5 for "large packet".

Hmmm. Indeed. They almost seem to have a siege like mentality now. Its expensive insured express shipping ....or nothing.

BAA used to be ok .....they had a standard USPS box for like $10 that you could fill up to certain weight. Not sure if they still offer that.

how much customs tax do you guys get charged when buying from marco ect? If you can wait a couple weeks Grizz your welcome to add it to my marco order just slip me a couple quid towards the shipping

Pretty much given up on ordering anything form the US.

Was looking about for something and just asked Marco Spec how much for a $4 wire support that must weigh next to nothing ............... £28 !!!!!!!!!!!!!! :der:

i have a friend in the US who will accept my pinball purchases and then forward them to me. i know and trust you, so in cases like this you can always give me a call or text dude

On top of the daft US shipping charges you also get shafted by the thieving, money-grabbing, miserable, penny-pinching, scum-bag, tight-****d, UK Border Agency over here:

Anyone got a US trip planned.... an empty suitcase.... and a charitable disposition?

Anyone got a US trip planned.... an empty suitcase.... and a charitable disposition?

I had an interesting 20 mins with security at Denver Airport a few years back. Had ordered a load of stuff from PinballLife and had it sent to family we were visiting on way back so I could bring it home. Word of warning .....hand luggage stuffed with LEDs, various wired lamps, circuit boards, shooter rods, assorted bits of metal will cause a bit of fuss at security ....... must have been half a dozen security guys all poking the bits , rescanning it etc as I muttered on about pinball machines :bounce:

I thought Marco had got there act together and started to charge a fair shipping rate.
Seems no is the answer to that one.
Its not just the U.S. any world wide shipping is a joke , It has killed all deals from buying overseas. And in our hobby thats not good.

Im impressed I ordered a couple bits from pinball spare parts oz on the 4th they came today! thats quicker than royal fail

Order information
Order #5880

Order Total: 79.10 (AUD)

I would post the link to my order but dont really want everyone going through my account. My bad it was sent on the 3rd but still 3 days is good. When i post my son his bday and xmas stuff in oz it onormally takes 3 - 7 days by air so it is actually believable :0P. Just goes to show how poor or mail system is

I fully concur........and not too amusing either especially as the word Confiscate was considered and not too far from being voiced by the uniforms....
Yip...ALWAYS put the Suitcase full of pinball parts in the Hold. If you require post,, Belgium/France is still worth consideration.

Marcos shipping to the UK is a joke. They quoted me £35 to post a schematic and, recently, between £10 and £35 to post two 1" inserts. It's their iGlobal service that quote for international shipping but I queried the high cost with Marcco and they just referred me back to iGlobal who generously offered me 10% off. I declined. Unless it's a big order, I can't see how it's financially prudent to buy from them.
PBR shipping is always very reasonable.
