So the AFM I have picked up is in really nice shape, but I want to go black trim, getting legs, lock bar & siderails powder coated in a gloss black..

The siderails on the game are mint, Im wondering best way to get them off without damaging the artwork..

Any advice, or anyone in the south east London area that is an expert in this.. willing to come help me out! ..

Not for the feint hearted... its double sided tape so a hairdrier, a pallette knife and lots of patience!

Good luck..

I have a heavy steel straight edge I put on top of the side rail, and an old non steam iron. I move the iron up and down the steel bar. This disperses the heat along an 18 inch section. This melts the glue on the tape, and then carefully use a pallet knife.

Ive never been successful in taking them off without damaging something.
The iron sounds like good advice

If they have been stuck on from new then you have pretty much no chance of them coming off perfect
A little heat from a hair dryer and a good quality thick scraper is what I use
Personal I just throw them away and buy new it takes hours to clean the original adhesive tape of after
If it’s had new decals then be very careful as you may pull the decal of with the rail
