I like a challenge and bought a Gottlieb Genie with all original boards. I was planning to put in a Pascal, but when I opened it I found all the boards covered in cobwebs and the headers to the PSU broken. Hopefully this was the reason it was mothballed However every single pin on the bloody thing has got to be replaced 4 hrs today has got me about 5~10% done. It would be great to get this game up and running with the original boards. I just hope the Spider are not f--kd. Like all Genies, the top arch of the play field has badly worn I know there was a guy a few years ago that made overlays. I have emailed him but no reply. Does anyone know of anywhere else I could get this overlay Any advice appreciated

Repinning absolutely sucks! It’s real tedious. But oh so worth it in the long run! Hang in there my friend!
For what it’s worth. During repinning take regular breaks. Walk the dog. Stroke a kitten. Seek out the wife/partner and have a cuddle(See where that goes 🤣). But never give up on the repinning quest, its the single best kept secret of reliability.
Oh and , sorry no ideas where you can get an overlay sorry.......
Genie is a fabulous game.
All the best Keef..........😎

@Game On does genie have those edge connector styles like the system 80? If so where did you get the pins from. I would like to repin my Rocky

They are thee same. I did a lot of research into the connectors pins etc prior to doing this job and was very glad I did. you will need the following.... 1) A decent crimp tool that will crimp .156 pins (.5mm) Beware of the cheap Chinese "knock-offs". You gonna be crimping 100's of pins and you hand will know it. The cheap ones do not have hardened jaws and hurt you hands after 20 or so pins 2) A pin Extraction tool. This really "f-cks" me off because it is basically a very precise thin strip of metal you push into the housing to release the pin Problem is they cost upward of £15! Why? it must cost pennies to make! But you HAVE to have it or you simply cannot do the job. Molex pin extractor part no: 11-03-0003 or 11-03-0016. they come as a strip if metal that hurts you hands so I put a small file handle on mine 3) You 2 types of pin on the game a) For all the edge connectors you need single sided .156 pins for 18~20 gauge wire Molex Prt No is 08-52-0072. You can get them from RS Components Prt No: 679-4714 @ around £8 for 100 You will need 300 (by the time you have practiced and re-done duff crimps. b) For all the power supply and other headers you need .156 Molex "Trifurcon" connectors Molex Prt No: 08-52-0113 again from RS components Prt No: 6794723 again around £8 for 100. you only need a few of these but 100 id the minimum order. Finally LOTS OF PATIENCE and practice. Crimping is monotonous and after 30 or so you hands hurt and you make mistakes. I suggest wherever possible you use a meter to check the newly crimped connector because once back in the game if you have duff crimps your real nightmare will begin! The very best of luck I am about 40% through mine and completely P-issed off with crimping tools and pins.

Wow cheers @Game On for that detailed response. I have experience with crimping the odd connector and have a ratchet crimping tool so should be ok. Head down and crack on I suppose!! I’ll order up some of those you’ve listed.
Thanks man🤟

My pleasure and the best of luck. I am told, (yet to find out), That it will all be worthwhile and I will have hands like King Kong! Its being "had over" buying the bloody pin extrction tool a tiny strip of metal for £15+. I think RS do do a cheaper one though
