I can see some confusion and possible misunderstandings on Dave Bishop's part concerning the Batman 66 speakers and the different lighting options on them. The original speakers in a Batman 66 LE and Premium are 4" speakers (the SLE used 5.25" speakers). The Speaker Illumination Mod kits made by The Mod Couple are for 4" speakers. I have my doubts that they will even work at all with 5.25" speakers. I am not sure and I don't really understand what they are or how they install, but as I said, they are mainly meant to be used with the standard 4" speakers as were shipped in the LE and Premium (and Cat Woman) games.
The "ring type" light kits I sell are ONLY for 5.25" speakers. I also sell the 5.25" speaker plates that are needed for that type of speaker / speaker light kit upgrade if your game originally came with 4" speakers from the factory. I sell the 5.25" speaker plates for $50 a pair (USD) BUT, if you are also buying a SPIKE2 Speaker Light Kit from me they are only $25 a pair for the 5.25" speaker plates. This is a significant savings on the normal price of those type of speaker plates....and it actually makes the speaker plates and light kit a lower price than what the upgrade is normally without the light kit, as a factory type install of that sort calls for an additional $30 worth of gaskets and spacers to be used, that are not used if a light kit is installed.
I also sell the 5.25" SPIKE 2 speaker surrounds in various colors on my website if you would like to use them. They are not required and I have seen people using my 5.25" speaker plate and Deluxe 5.25" light kits without them. I am not really certain how close my orange surrounds are to the factory Batman 66 SLE surround colors as I have never had a chance to compare them first hand. I doubt they are a direct match though, as I suspect Stern used a translucent or transparent acrylic to help to compensate for their poor lighting technique on their speaker lighting attempts.
I have the 5.25" speaker plates and Deluxe 5.25" Speaker Light Kits in a single click combo, but if you prefer to buy my Standard or Deluxe "fully lit grill" type light kits with the 5.25" speaker plates....you can buy them separately and I will refund the $25 plate savings back to the PayPal transaction when the order is processed. My website is currently charging $25 for the shipping on a speaker plate / light kit / surround set order....though it costs me $37.05 to actually ship it. I'm not sure how long I am going to continue to eat those costs, but that is how it is, as of now. There have been some shipping delays with the current world situation, but everything seems to be getting though eventually. If anyone is in a hurry I am happy to upgrade them to the faster priority mail if they want to pay the extra cost (usually $50ish for that type of order I believe).
As for 5.25" speakers...I usually recommend the Kenwood KFC-1366s model that Stern has been including on their recent LE games. I mainly suggest them as I think they look great with the light kits with their light silver speaker cones. I have actually bought sets from Amazon and eBay myself. I have known several people to pull the JBL speakers from their Iron Maiden LE and Deadpool LE games and replace them with the Kenwood speakers just to make the speakers all match in their collections.
If anyone has any questions about anything else concerning this, feel free to e-mail me (listed on my website) and here are some links:

Here's a nice video showing an almost complete lineup of games with the Deluxe 5.25" light kits in them...notice the Star Wars on the end doesn't have a surround set in it...so you can see what that looks like. I would have recommended a white set of surrounds to match the t-molding of the LE if I were picking.
Thanks for listening and I hope I didn't get too long winded on the subject,
