Power shed problem on Jurassic Park

I picked up a JP yesterday listed as "Perfect Condition" on EBay. It's pretty good but I quickly realised there is a problem with the power shed. This is the shot between the ramp and the far right extra ball / boat dock shot. This is also the S in chaos that you target after jackpot.

The switch works when repeatedly tested in the switch test diagnostic menu and it also seems to freeze the mode so that it doesn't cycle to another mode when the ball goes into the pop bumpers (as it should).

Unfortunately it doesn't register the S in chaos or seem to register when hit during system boot mode. It's a little baffling so any help is greatly appreciated.

In switch test are you repeated testing it by dropping the ball down the scoop?

When in a game are you saying that it activates the freeze mode when you drop the ball down the scoop?

Does it say switch 60 (right scoop trough) and or 61 (right VUK)? I suspect it may be a broken switch diode on either the top pop bumper (sw45) or the target just to the right of that pop bumper (sw53) or the VUK (sw61).

To test the switch I dropped several balls down the power shed. It always activates the power shed switch (60) followed immediately by the VUK (61). This seems correct.

In game play, a ball down the power shed locks in the mode so that it does not change even if pop bumpers are hit, which would normally toggle through the various modes. This seems correct.

Switch 45 (pop bumper) works but switch 53 (Brachiasaurus) doesn't. It's definitely failed. Are these related?

They are on the same row or column as the VUK and given that the VUK is activating a mode that is normally started by the top pop bumper...

The Brachiasaurus (53) target had been marginally moved up the playfield (probably from repeated hits from the lower right flipper) into a position that meant it was being prevented from closing by the steel wall that borders the helipad upper loop. Once adjusted to its correct position it worked fine in the switch test. Further inspection of the adjoining stand up target assembly found a green wire off the triceratops target (52). I've re-soldered this and the power shed seems to be working correctly now.

Thank you very much for the helpful advice!
