Hi all.
Has anyone got any experience of LEDs in pop bumpers? I'm keen to fit some to my Tom project, but I'm unsure on the best ones to use. A quick google suggests cointaker ones, as they have side shining leds, but I'm reluctant to use them, partly due to the stupid shipping, and also that there are enough euro suppliers that need supporting.
anyone got any experience?
thanks!

Hi mate
ive put mark squires incandescent appearance LEDs in my ES. They look good. But in all honesty I actually prefer normal bulbs in pop bumpers. The only reason i use LEDs in there is when they're a pita to get to when they blow. Eg: BOP! When they go, you have to remove the helmet and mini pf. I'll take a pic tomorrow and post it on here

that was part of my thinking gaz. I didnt want to have to mess about to change the bulbs in future. also i'm sure that 555's weren't recommended in pop bumpers due to the vibration. #259 comes to mind but i may be totally making that up! i don't have any 259's anyway so in either case i need to give Mr Palmer or Netherwood some money!

how does one get hold of Mr Squires's LED's? im keen to try just a few to see whether i like them. As a rule i dont like the look of LED's. too fast on the switch on and off in inserts and the GI stuff just looks like spots of blue light. Not for me.
if you have a picture of how the squires ones look i'd be grateful.

You can buy Mr Squire's LEDs direct from Pinball Mania. Andy is the distributor for them.

As Daz says, pinball mania are the dealer for those. I think they might be called trueLED. I'm out and about at the moment so I only have this pic of the illuminated pf. They have a really soft glow to them.

I'll post a better pic later mate.

Just put some Trueleds in lotr. I noticed they still flicker ever so slightly and are not the non ghosting type. Look like factory bulbs in the GI, and equally as good in the inserts imho.

I have had 3led cluster ones in my MM for a few years now - gives a good look, and good lastability plus, less hear/power so no more burnt pop bumper lenses
