Hi,
Anyone know of a competitive direct UK supplier of Pinsatadium LED lights, $335.00 dollars with UV glow/ postage etc seems a bit heavy ?

Regards & thanks

No UK dealer.

It's expensive for what it is, but such is pinball and particularly US stuff.

Import duty and shipping costs are becoming pretty bad I’m afraid.

The WiFi controller and app is pretty good on pin stadium, it’s not just light strips.

Looks like a good bit of kit to acquire.
The costs to bring kit in is ridiculous, it seems excessive when shipping you have already paid in US is added again for the import calculations for what you owe then you have the Royal Mail handling fee. US Priority Mail with Pinballlife is 70USD for a relatively small package....
A well known US maker of side blades did me an unsolicited favour If you catch my drift.....I wonder if others would be happy to fudge figures....

Always wondered how they badged that up if you needed a replacement shipped, where you already got your pants pulled down..........

In my experience it's not worth the hassle.

I tried to dispute a customs charge for a set of replacement LEDs in a second shipment, for ones that were missing from a kit (that I'd already paid the full value customs charge on).

Spent a not inconsiderable amount of time compiling all the documents together, including the original invoices, the original gently peeled off customs labels (not copies) that they require, copies of my email correspondence confirming the second package were replacement for missing bulbs etc. I even included a cover letter describing the timeline with annotations for the relevant documents.

At least 2 months passed before I got a letter back from HMRC asking me to provide the customs labels.... They had my contact details from what I sent in order to have been able to contact me, but who knows what happened to what I had already provided. Obviously I had no way of replying since I had already sent off the original customs labels.

Decided at that point that life was too short to carry on wasting time to try and get ~£50 back from them.

Also the problem with marking stuff down in value really is that if it genuinely does get lost or damaged in transit that's all you (the sender) can claim back.

Pinball Life is a bit of a frustrating one because they are suppliers of some stuff you can't easily get anywhere else, but their shipping to UK pretty much starts at $60. I believe - according to their home page - that they have just added USPS shipping for small items, but that wouldn't cover PinStadium.

Maybe a group buy of stuff from them is in order...

Careful what game you put these on, or you get the infamous zebra stripes!

Shame you don't know anyone going out to an American pinball show this year, perhaps you could of asked them to bring one back for you if they could collect it at the show.

Roger all those comments......, thanks ?
Already got them installed on a Dialed-In pin I recently bought and must admit I really like em, just the cost I’m not so hot on :(
Our beloved HMRC Import tax is another factor I’d not even considered....... Blumin double bummer ££ ?

I’ve got mirror blades and pin stadium on all mine, only really an issue on a few. I will mess with the lighting to see if I can improve it on iron maiden.

Mirror blades don't make a difference.

It's just the leds reflecting off metal surfaces.

I have a set of pinstadiums I removed from TH when I bought a few weeks back but as I didn’t originally buy/fit I’ve no idea what version they are.
They have the flashers and are connected with a phone app for lots of control options. To me TH has perfectly adaquate lighting so I fitted them to my TZ and wow they are a game changer IMO.
I’m sure not all games are enhanced or need them like my TH but for older games they can breathe new life into an old game.
I later made a simple set for a STTNG which cost about £20 all in and even these transformed the game beyond belief and I’ve come to the conclusion lighting a game internally is far, far better in every way then trying to light a PF externally.
I would consider selling my Pinstadiums and just stick my homemade ColStadiums (see what I done there) if you or anyone really interested in them.

Funny you should say that. I bought a set of Pin Stadiums with UV glow ages ago which have sat unused as I can’t decide on the pin to fit them. Wouldn’t suit TH. Was thinking of maybe my incandescent lite STTNG. Probably daft but has anyone done this..

If you have them do yourself a favour and just fit them to one of your older pins like your STTNG just to get a feel of how they look. My STTNG did reflect the LEDs quite a bit on the wire rails but TBH it suited the look and sort of gave it a star like depth to them so win win

On STTNG are you tapping onto anything or using external supply?
I just used a set of 5v LEDs that had a usb plug for power and supplied via external PSU.
My next set will be sourced internally pin dependant oc and use mag tape like the pinstadiums do
