Hi

Just started a restoration on my RoadShow pin and had ordered a new set of decals from pinballdecalls.eu but I'm starting to think they may no longer be operating based on the fact my order hasnt progressed in 2 weeks and no coms.

Anyone had any recent orders completed or is a delay expected ? guess I may have to put in a claim to the bank..

Any recomendations on other decal suppliers for a full set of decent RoadShow Artwork.

Thanks in advance

Andy

I’d have a look to see if Mr Pinball has RS in stock.

The quality of his decals are really good and are easy to install. If he has the license, I always purchase my decals from him.

The stuff produced by pinball decals eu are bad, like really bad.

Just had a look and it looks like his website is down for maintenance, but maybe email him and ask 👍🏻

I bought a PZone decal in Feb. Arrived all good, looks okay etc.
Not the best, but not the worst quality.

Thanks all for the input.. I'd still not heard anything from them and no response to emails.. however had a knock on the door and the decals have arrived...

Initial inspection as i'm working but they look very good.. need to compare with the cab but look pretty decent quality wise

I did reach out to Mr Pinball but he doesnt do RoadShow.

1. Pinballdecals are slow, their comms is also slow/non existent
2. The material they use can be thin, I would recommend doing a strong body filler on the cabinet and you want it butter smooth, their decals show up any imperfections.
3. When you apply those decals try not to pinch any of the decals. Use Metal leg protectors, cut around the protectors to avoid pinching. Use David @ Retro Arcade Specialists for the leg protectors, not sure where he gets them from but they are thicker metal than most. I've used some from PBH and they were too thin which basically meant the legs were still hitting the cab...
Don't wrench in the carriage bolts on the backbox/cab. They will pinch the decal and you'll end up with bubbles/shrinkage.
4. If you go down Mr. Pinball route. Don't use rattle can spray for the primer/filler, you need a thick paint ideally applied via a compressor, the glue on his Vinyl is so damn strong it will literally lift off most basic paints. His stuff is good but God you better hope you get that decal down in one go, I'd also avoid wet application with his vinyl. His material and print is very good though.
5. You can use Xianek for the decals but his colour accuracy is slightly off. His decals are thick and the glue used is the right strength, it won't come off once dry but it also won't rip off your rattle can paint job. Also FYI he'll take like 2 - 3 weeks to get them across to you (Poland -- England Postal is F'ing slow).

Good luck!

I have recently finished a Popeye using Pinball decals EU, i agree with everything s000m has said except that i would and did use the wet method in the end ,I learned this on a Demolition Man re decal. I also started on the Popeye back box i did this dry. .You have to be cock on because as s000m said their glue is super strong you wont lift them without taking off either the paint / primer underneath or the silver/ whitish backing on the decal itself. The wet way in my opinion is the only way to go with these i know people will say it weakens the glue but its so blooming strong you will have to go a long way to weaken that glue. Just my recent experiance i would not do them dry again i cant see the point it just takes more time thats all

Oh I agree you can do it wet. Just not wet with rattle can spray. As you say it lifts the paint easy. Even when wet the glue is like gorilla glue!
