A little ramble about the circle of pinball .......
Back in 2005 at the UK Pinball Show I played, and fell in love with, a Williams Space Station. A few months afterwards I was lucky enough to find one locally. It needed some new target decals etc and I put a shout out on UKPinball.
A helpful guy on there supplied me with some he had spare as he had recently moved on his Space Station - turns out it was his I had played at the Show .
Anyway fast forward to maybe 2009/10 and I am speaking to him at another show or meet and he says he really regretted selling the SS ...and is keen to get hold of another to complete his collection but they are a bit thin on the ground.
Last night I have a quick look on ebay before bed , as you do
, and see a nice looking Space Station listed with a very reasonable Buy It Now. I think to myself that isn't gonna be on there long at that price, briefly consider buying it in case its nicer than mine.....but quickly dismiss that idea as I'm not really that anal about condition
.......and then I remember someone who is looking for one.
So I quickly email him, thinking he prob hasn't seen this , and in the hope he might see the mail as I don't have his number.
I go to bed.
Wake up this morning to find an email from him absolutely over the moon that he was able to grab the SS off ebay thanks to my alert. I was delighted for him !
The circle is complete, his Space Station got me hooked on the game, he helped me out, and years down the line I find another one for him.
Its all one big pinball world man and what goes around comes around. Look out for each other soldiers and we'll all make it home safe
