I've just got back from a trip to Ottawa to see a friend and thought I'd share some info about about a place to play pinball, in case you find yourself in this beautiful city.
The place is called House of Targ, and it has 16 pinball machines plus about a dozen arcade cabs, some shooting games, a couple of cocktail cabs, and driving games. They have a mix of pins, quite a few modern Sterns, plus some 90's machines, and some older, less seen pins.
From what I can remember they had:
Whitewater
Star Wars Stern
Star Wars Data East
Ghostbusters
Deadpool
Turtles
Stranger Things
Doctor Who
Rescue 911
Street Fighter 2
Gladiators
Blackout
Terminator 2
Iron Man
Munsters
Getaway
Some were in really good condition, others were a bit worn and had a few issues, although when I pointed out a couple of issues, the staff were quick to fix them and get them going again.
I think they are generally priced at $1 a game, but on Sunday when we went it is $10 when everything is set on freeplay from 11am until 8pm.
There is also something on Sunday evenings (80's dj etc) and again it's $10 to play from 8pm until 2am, but is adults only.
They have a good selection of draft beers, bottles and cans at reasonable prices, and also serve perogies if you get peckish.
It's a great little place to get a pinball fix if you find yourself in Ottawa, especially if it happens to be a Sunday for the freeplay sessions.
There is also a cool little bar called Level One, that doesn't have any pins, but has a selection of screens set up with modern and retro consoles connected. You speak to your server and they will bring you a game and the controllers and off you go. They also have a huge selection of board games, which a lot of people were getting stuck into.
