It's looking like the current Hyundai Tucson is going and will need replacing. Ideally looking at another SUV to replace it, something that will easily swallow up a pin table in the back.

The wife likes the look of the Dacia Duster, seeing as she's going to be driving the car more than me this may influence our decision.

Does anyone have a Dacia and how easily does it accommodate a pin? Otherwise what other good alternatives should I consider?

Was surprised to hear this too when @Jagspete told me, but he said the Juke surprisingly will take one. Something I've not tried with the wife's (yet)
I’d be amazed if a Juke could take one I drove a mates a while back and it’s tiny.

Well blow me sideways it looks like it would slide in there it’s just down to length.
Reading that back sound like a quote from a porn site. 😂

I’m tempted myself if it does as a pinhauler.

Yeah they’re not big, it always surprises friends that it’s a 4 door car when they jump in the back.
@Jagspete was the man who told me, when he dropped off RoboCop in his van. I said we only had a Juke, which assumed wouldn’t take one and he said Juke yes, Qashqai nope.

I would have though it would be the other way round.

I use a MK1 duster as a works vehicle and can get all my tools in the back without dropping the back seat . Width to curves is 29” . Height to lip is 29” then a drop of 3”approx , the back seat does not go flat ,even taking the seat out .which just clips in , the back sticks up approximately 3” , which will make it very difficult to lift it up ,unless you make a drop in false floor to make it flat , not only that you are about 1” to big to slide it in , basically I will say no it’s not possible. But for me I will say it is possible but I would have to unbolt and take every piece of the back seat out and I think it wil fit then .

Ps this is folding the head down and not taking it off

I was amazed when I managed to fit Gorgar into our Kia Ceed estate. Not sure if a newer pin with a folding backbox would - it'd be close for sure.

If someone provides me minimum measurements I can check a 2016 Juke now
Juke Teckna 2020 on the wheelchair site: BOOT

Length of boot floor - back row of seats folded down or removed 1500mm
Length of boot floor - back row of seats upright 810mm
Vertical height of boot opening 863mm
Boot sill height to floor of car 227mm
Boot sill height to ground 777mm
Width of boot floor at narrowest point 1015mm
Width of boot opening - bottom 968mm

That's quite a lift to get it back over the lip of the boot opening though, 23cm.
I was thinking that, will try and remember to check it tomorrow. There's a removable false floor for extra storage space, measurements could have been with this removed for the additional wheelchair depth when they measured with the back seats upright (maybe)

Anyone know if a Kia Sportage can accommodate a pin?
No to Sportage. I took a tape measure around a lot of cars a few months ago, it's shocking how many relatively large cars, SVU's especially, won't take a pin. High roof, yes, high floor too though. I really wanted a Peugeot 2008, nowhere near, 3008, nope. The 7 seater 5008 will take a pin easily.

I should add I mean without taking the head off .

Ah bugger can’t do that lifting malarkey any more I thought it slid straight in.
With the false floor left in place it should slide in mate just a tiny lip there, I think the wheelchair website gave the full lip depth with this removed to give the boot more upright depth to store a wheelchair. I imagine keeping the back seats up and storing a wheelchair just in the boot is preferable to laying one flat with the back seats flat (if that makes sense)

Once again I stress looking at the top profile as those show that even if ot says the height is sufficient, it still isn't going to fit.

It's also the wife's current car, it would just be a bonus if I knew this was possible. I don't have a car, I work from home, I certainly don't want a car as I'd currently just get blagged to go around to family members fixing their "broken" TV's due to their aerials moving from the recent crap weather.

Good point, width at the top narrows and that will be the widest part of the backbox.

Guessing that's what the issue with Qasqui is as length and height both show OK.

Is the false floor going to be strong enough to take the weight of the pin on it?

The problem with the quashqai is that the seat backs don’t fold down flat and the roof line (opening)is low, and the lip was high which meant sliding in at an angle but the seats stopped play, - someone tried to collect a pin in one and had to come back with another car- thiis was a dmd machine with head on. I honestly don’t know about the Juke, I don’t recall knowing one way or another! Looking at photos seems plenty big enough and if it’s a straight slide should only be back opening to floor lip that’s important.

Suprised at this - I always thought the sportage was more or less a Ceed with "jacked up" suspension
