I collected an Austin Powers from @I TiltAlot yesterday, all was going well until I went to start the car to drive back to find (as I now know) that the fuel pump had failed. :(

So a couple of hours drive back to Bristol and home by 9.30pm instead ended up being waiting 4 1/2 hours for the tow truck, then me, the AA man and Keith just managing to push the car up the slope of the drive to the road (while his wife steered it) then lastly we had to change over tow trucks at Michaelwood services and so I finally got home at 3.30am!

I'm sure there are plenty of stories of collection woes or unexpected developments better than just a 6 hour delay though? o_O

Went to pick up a Dr Dude from an alpaca farm, pin was in the top floor of a barn which had a curved staircase. I said that it was unlikely the pin would go down the stairs and around the curve, seller stated that is how it was brought in. So we started taking down the stairs, around the curve and it got stuck and i mean stuck, ended up having to break the staircase to get it round. Got the pin into the car when the seller remembered that there used to be an external staircase that had been removed and bricked up the doorway years ago. Nice one

Many years ago I went to collect an rfm and sw ep1 from a nightclub in dewsbury. When we got there we found the pins were upstairs in the first floor bar up a tight set of stairs that turned 90 degrees.

The owner told us they'd both come up the stairs as they were so we lifted them to the steps. Got to the top, huffed a lot at their weight and decided to go for it. Half way down the pin got jammed between the steps and ceiling!!!!! I thought I was going to pass out at the weight and then the struggle to dislodge it and then go back up.

I nearly threw up when we got it back to the top, it was at this point the owner suddenly remembered they had to remove the heads  If I hadn't been so totally knackered he'd of got a good poke in the eye I can tell you

Or why I hate future spa

In 1994 we hired a van to clear 4 pins from an arcade advertised in the coin slot. We were told someone else was interested but if we were there before 12 they were ours. Seaside arcade great Yarmouth 3 hours away. So we arrive 1130 and boss not about as out of season. He'll be here an hour would you like to see games. High speed big guns fathom flash Gordon still taking coin. All tidy . 50 quid each. Owner due and my driver who had popped to cafe ran in saying hire van had been stolen. Frantic call 999 and told van had been found half a mile away on the beach but undamaged and could we come and make a statement. Told cashier we'd be back. Police sent car . Made statement . Recovered van. Went back to arcade 1pm. No mobiles then. Of course games had gone as other person had turned up . Owner said sorry first come first served. Told me he had 4 other pins in storage. Drive for an hour into darkest East Anglia. Wooden shack. Open doors and 4 delapidated rusty hulks . 4 x future spa. Two had no glass. Well I can always use spares and didn't want a wssted journey. How much? £400 . But those nice games were £50? But , explained owner those were company games I can write off these I can't. Drove away empty handed. The ONLY time ever. God I hate Future Spa
