Hi everyone, I know I'm not getting one for a while and will try to go and play different pins but does anyone have

Terminator 2/3 and or Super Mario Bros and what do you think of them?

A rough price estimate would be great too.

Cheers Ian

Yep - forget SMB unless you *have* to have a SMB

T2 is a Steve Ritchie classic, not the deepest game in the world, and the dots are showing their age ...it was the first Williams with a DMD, but its great fun to play though might get old pretty quick in a 1 or 2 game line up. Its little more than a souped up Sys 11 era ruleset.

T3 is prob the better game, I know those who have played it a lot /owned it usually rate it.

Prices ??? .....oh god ....here we go

T2 seems to be more in demand than ever and going on ebay pricing its getting harder and harder to find them for sub 1K ....yikes !

T3.....prob 1250+

SMB - as mentioned ... forget it, £200 would be too much

Personally, if I was going to spend £1k on a new machine I would try to find a Shadow, Whitewater, STTNG or one of the lesser Sterns. Failing that I would add £200 and look for a CFTBL

Plenty of great machines out there, Get to a show and play as many different titles as possible and you will come away with a much better idea of what machine floats your boat or so to speak.

Wow! Jonathan, could you source me a couple of those STNG at £1000 and a CFTBL for £1200? I'll even give you a 10% finders fee!

I bought a STTNG for less than that a couple of years back. Ebay prices don't necessarily mean real prices.

Think you'd struggle to find STTNG for under 1 grand now. Most seem to be on ebay for up to £1800-2000, so I'd guess £1200-£1500 would be the going rate. (Guess I got a bargain there then Jon!)

T3 - £1200 as well? Far better game than it's reputation deserves. Ian, if you're anywhere near London then you're welcome to come round and play mine to get a feel for it.

T2 - not seen one for less than a grand for a while. It was the machine that initially got me into the game. Was looking for one for a while but played one last year at the Slam and it hadn't aged as well as I'd hoped. Bit limited but OK for a quick blast. The cannon was no where near as cool as I remembered.

SMB - not played it but if you buy one then you'll probably be stuck with it for a while!

Out of the 3, I'd probably pump for the T3

Doubt you will find any of those titles for a K now

T2 is ace, fast and pretty forward for it's time, nice looking pin, open playfield, it's a blast, I just shifted one with nice cab and substantial insert wear for £825 (made a loss on it but pinball karma as Ive pointed out in another thread is priceless, would have made if listed on ebay ) one just went on ebay for £1300, I think they are pretty much a 1k machine now in any condition, playfields with low wear and nice auto fire decal etc are hens teeth, these seem to have been routed to the max and suffer excessive wear possibly due to the open pf layout, popularity and age.
