Quite a few members have contacted me, requesting more PIN2DMD’s.

To help those new to PIN2DMD - it is a community/Open Source project, to create a LED full colour DMD (Standard version is EVO128x32 dots).

Being open source, information is shared to have them made freely. Some companies get them made, stock them and sell them for profit, some members enjoy making them. So far I have managed 2 group buys on here and carried out the final build, and firmware programming needed to get them working in a real pinball machine.

You can find out all of this information at PIN2DMD.COM - in total the forum has supported the production of 135 units - so lots of Pinballinfo.com members have one or more of these displays (I have 3).

The EVO DMD is almost plug and play - I made a short video installing one in a Williams Getaway HS2 here. You will need to 12V power for Williams/Bally machines.

To work in a real pinball machine the display needs a €10 charitable contribution to the project founder (@Lucky1). The contribution is made as part of the group buy, and activation applied to every display.

The last group buy secured 50 units - and costs were £145 each including VAT. Shipping and packaging is charged extra based on where you want them shipped - UK shipping was £8 inc VAT on the last group buy. I will confirm final costs once we have demand for at least 50 more units.

FOR ABSOLUTE CLARITY - this is not a business proposition from me. This is a project that I carry out for the forum. If you'd like a full retail experience with support, etc. please buy direct from a specialist retailer (Google returns a few if you search for PIN2DMD shop, or PIN2DMD stock). Personally I have all of the PIN2DMD displays I need. This is a project I manage to help members.

To have a full colour experience you will need some software to translate the games animation for your machine - these are called colour files. You can also run the PIN2DMD in different colour modes (palettes) - lots of knowledgeable people in the forum who are helpful. Do ask questions.

I would if there was a colour file for Spider-man (original) but I don't think there is.
 
If we can stir up interest - simillar to before £145 ea inc VAT. I wont do it unless its in this ballpark. XL and DE will be much more - closer to £180 but will confirm before ordering. There just isnt the demand for those versions to get a good price on volume.

Exactly what I googled and exactly what I found, that's the Vault Edition. I'm pretty sure the animations are very different to the original.

And even more happy to see that Spider man Vault has been done.
Looks like because of the above I will be in for another two.
 
Yes Please, Would like one for my Addams Family Pin, unsure which version I need but what ever is compatible with Addams Family.
 
Really silly Q - Would it not be a good idea (and encourage people in!) to list the games that have been converted (with developer, contact info and Aprox cost) - this way people can just look and go "ooh - I can get one of these because this will cost me £20 on top and allow me to have colour on my new DMD"..??

I’ll have a go at listing them when I get a bit of time. Quite honestly though there are quite a few who install without developed colour files as discussed in other PIN2DMD threads.

It can be quite an improvement on the standard mono DMD with a simple 4 colour palette.

Also I don’t know what the costs for the individual colour files are - it ranges from free ([mention]slippifishi [/mention] ) to whatever you feel is appropriate (I’ve paid €25 for some because they are fantastic and the developer gives me updates).

It would be really helpful if people would share with me which game they’ve upgraded and who the developer was. I think fees are between the individual game owner and the developer.

Also any developers on here who would like me to add their work in the top post - let me know please.

Current Owners please DM me if you’d like to share details of your PIN2DMD upgrade.

Would have been nice if TZ was already colorised but to be honest im more than happy to use this instead of the original display
Black and White looks retro and suits TZ ..even the orange pallette is superb
