Anyone know of a uk supplier for the berry 400 parts tumbler?

Every time I do a search it keeps coming up with US suppliers.

Thanks for the help guys, both of these look good.

Are they large enough to take solenoid assemblies and other similar sized items?

I'll second the Lyman 1200. Not the biggest bowl but good enough for solenoid brackets and smallish metal ball guides. Also comes with enough media (a bit soft) to get you started. HenryKrank.com also sell some decent Walnut media. 5kgs for £20 which is enough to your polish your balls for a very long time (if that's what you're into...........)

is this the tumbler of choice? I need to invest in one and media - can people tell me what I need to order?

...or is there a FAQ out there I've just plain missed

Media can vary - i use crushed corn, however you can also used crushed walnut shells etc.

If you're in the midlands i have some crushed corn you can have to give it a whirl.

Add in a little Brasso or Autosol and it'll come up nicely

Am I expecting too much of a tumbler to save these?

I cant seem to find replacements on the net anywhere (theyre from an Addams behind the window ramp and behind the bookcase - cant fathom part numbers from the manual doesnt help either!)...

You would probably need to use a more abrasive media in the tumbler for corroded stuff like that. Personally i would get rid of what gunk i could by hand and chuck em in the tumbler when i got close to the finish i wanted.

Thats impressive Rav - what are you using as Media...???

Was that with any pre-work or just "throw em in and leave em to see what happens?"...

Using crushed walnuts at the minute with a slightly over-eager slug of Brasso as you suggested

I did wire wool the red rusty parts where i could but not massively before they went in... I'm going to give the insides another go and perhaps leave them churning in the tumbler for a few more days - I presume theres no halm... The lyman came with two bags of media inside it, not sure what it is as I got the walnut at the same time

You reminded me - i use Crushed Walnuts too, not Crushed Corn as i previously thought. Like the way those have come up tho.

Just keep an eye on the edges and make sure that they arent being eroded too much...

I never used the stuff supplied with mine either - in fact dont even know where it all is!!

Not at all. In fact, the media is designed for the tumbler i bought. (which is also from the same site). The size of the ceramic triangles will no doubt be useless for the smaller stuff, but rotten lockdown brackets should do fine.

Word of warning, don't use tuffnut media!!

This got sent with mine instead of corncob, I decided to run with it and it left red powder all over my items, it was almost like everything had been painted with red oxide!

Ended up having to polish everything on the buffing wheel to get it off

However the Lyman 2500 is big enough to take solenoid brackets and everything else I wanted to stick in there

Lesson learned, got corncob on order now!
