Ooooohhh....I've always liked the look of Starship Troopers! Just seen videos of it. Never played it.

What do you think of it?

I know the transistor on Harry let all it's smoke out, however how'd it loose a flipper??!?!?!?

Good to hear they are all back home safely

Flipper bat had actually detached from the shaft. Andy N identified it as a cheap repro - apparently you can tell because the little Williams 'W' on the top is chunkier and not as clearly defined as the decent ones. Can't remember where I got it from - a few years back now, could have been a Euro or US supplier as I did some biggish orders back then.

Well I had played it a bit in the past but never had one at home, and was keen to get my head around it a bit more.

Really well implemented theme - like the film its fast, loud, full on, in yr FACE ,bug destroying, planet nuking action

Nice smooth, low gradient ramps and slick orbit shot. Magnets up top of the playfield too. And I really like the addition of the 3rd small flipper , inline with the right one but with a seperate button - nice touch is using this flipper doubles bugs destroyed when you hit the targets. Clever.

Good long term challenge too getting thru all the planets, I dont imagine I'll be doing it too soon. Nice strategies to employ too, holding off nuking planets until you have completed a few to maximise points for example. Several multiballs and Recon modes.

Its just a fun , loud, fast machine ....perfect when you are in the mood for it....with beer and buddies

Oh and some really cool flasher/light shows - think there are more flashers on this game than any I have owned.

Got to be one of the best Sega games out there.
