Hi, Skylab has a new companion, but needs some work ...

Mentioning on off chance someone here either has or might know someone who has anything relating to this game (and might consider parting with):

Backglass (and metal strip along lower edge)
Left sling plastic
Spinner/spindle (exact match not essential, just something that works and doesn't look completely out of place would do - original was white with red print)
Original manual?

Thanks in advance for any help/pointers - hoping to nurse back to working and more presentable order in not-too-distant future.

Looks like a labour of love[emoji846].

Whats the white stuff on the playfield?

Either mould, mildew (not entirely sure of difference between the two without googling) or combo of both - comes off easy enough but there is planking throughout and some heavy wear up centre which i'll need to seek advice on dealing with (building back up level) at some point down the line. At least main cab is sound/reasonably presentable for 41 years and cold storage.

Tri zone was my first ever pin[emoji846]
I had the red white and green cab of the early production model although I didn't know it at the time.

Good luck with the restore[emoji16]

Cheers Darren. Not worked on one of these system6 before but enjoy a challenge :)

Judderman, harsh! (but fair) :)

Andy, cheers (not gonna rush this - should have more time spare in a few months) - looks like fun (love the sounds on some of these old tables)

Big respect for taking this on  What's the plan for the backglass? I can't find this title from the usual suspects.

Don't have much of one at moment, other than hoping someone somewhere (in UK) has a decent one from a scrapped machine/prepared to let go of it.
Perhaps contact some printers about reproducing onto a clear acrylic sheet (if something better as source material to work from available) if nothing turns up?
Guess cleaning it up and getting it working will keep me busy for a while - grateful to at least have a glass, just a shame it was removed from head as it's suffered as result.

Define "much" :)
Figured a good source of sys6 parts (have none and another game on wish-list) if nothing else, but looks/sounds like a game i'd enjoy playing.

Don’t take it as an insult, take it as incentive.

So.............how much did you pay? We’re all dying to know.

is ok, I didn't (take as insult) - is it condition? or has a glass for one of these not been seen since the 80's or ... the game (critique welcome)

Thanks for the heads-up/info Jb - looks a lot better than what is currently with machine.
Is odd, there is a blue trail that snakes down and behind the girls head ... looks scraped away from front (you can see the wall behind) but from back, looks intact (not clear/missing)?!

Wow, well spotted! I really can't work out what this is. I wondered if he'd mixed up front and back pictures of two different glasses but the other blemishes match up. You could ask him? He speaks good English and he's an honest guy (in my experience.)

Wondered same - does say Tri Zone 1, as if he had another but as you say, other scrapes all tally up. Logistically not viable to get down there to pick up for foreseeable future and might be over-optimistic but would hope to locate something with less print loss as replacement - would transform look of head tho so not ruling out by any means (early days) - if when i've managed to repair boards etc. nothing else has come to light/confirmed not cost-effective to get reprinted on acrylic etc. and still available ...

Just the general condition and amount of work vs reward.
Ah ok, there's reward to be had from bringing back from brink/seeing game come to life for first time in years/decades (will prob have to remind self a few times along way but hope to enjoy the process as much as is possible - is when you turn them off working, after days/weeks of TLC and they refuse to boot the next day ... comes with territory I guess)
