Just vent a little annoyance that the, so far fairly interesting and semi in depth 'retro electro' on Yesterday, has by it's third episode started 'Upcycling'.
I guess theres a line to draw - and I get too invested in saving stuff as original as possible - but pronouncing the mech as 'solid' and unsalvageable, discarding all innards, the chrome and chucking the untested original amp to replace with a tiny ebay bluetooth module. Aargh.

Anyhow, thanks, feel better now.

Poor attempt at a restorers program. The bus wiper was basically find another in the owners stores and replace it.
Jukebox was terrible too.

Started last week with the Radio Caroline tape loop player.. he tracked down the faulty circuit board and the dud (socketed) IC.. (although I would have introduced an earthing wrist strap at this point).
I fully expected him to describe IC, replace with a new chip and be hopefully able to return two working units..
Had high hopes.. good to see this 'repair shop' style prog, but sadly falls short..
Will stick to Joe's videos from Rock Hill, SC!
