Anyone want to cheer me up and buy a NIB TOTAN play field? This is a CPR one, its a "Silver" grade bought from ministry of pinball just over a week ago for 850 euros :(

I will throw in for FREE some brand new mods worth over £100

All in £600

You will need to collect or arrange collection by courier.

After shipping back to the Netherlands and restocking fees it's not worth it sadly.

Good luck with the sale

No way you should be out of pocket over this. The game got lost/stolen between 2 registered companies with 2 sets of insurance. Let us know if nothing gets resolved further down the line and we can maybe look at starting a collection to lessen the blow

The playfield was already for sale for £600 at the same time as the game, so this isn't for sale because of the "ToTAN issue"

Can we please drop the stolen ToTAN stuff for now, we don't want to have to lock every thread.

If collections are to be had, I'm sure the people concerned would rather donations to the site (maybe I'm wrong) but @Judge Dreads @tyke and @philpalmer as well as arcade clearance are all out due to this and Phil has asked for it to be left whilst he looks into stuff.

Why is it relevant to pinballinfo.com as a neutral pinball forum, in any way, what phil asked for? Why is he being afforded this luxury when other controversial threads, and presumably because this topic keeps getting closed there is some controversy in what is happening here, are left to run their course - including with potentially libellous discussions such as calling people criminals, thieves etc (e.g. in the Pred threads)? Why are threads that make borderline racist comments towards other European distributors left open? Whilst the moderation on here is generally excellent, this lack of consistency is hard to fathom; I can only conclude it is because of personal friendships taking precedence.

If the new forum policy is to close threads and suppress discussion for no logical reason other than personal friendships off site, then I certainly won't be donating to pinballinfo any more.

This is currently under discussion..... Please bear with us.

it has nothing to do with what Phil asked for specifically. In fact, i am in this case alluding to one particular request. There's more goes on behind the scenes than most think :D

Where?

I can only conclude it is because of personal friendships taking precedence.

I can state that it has nothing to do with that! I certainly have no personal friendship with Phil (He wouldn't know who i was anyway if he had to pick me out of a line up!)...

Quite simply because it was his stolen machine. In another thread he asked for time to sort it out (or words to that effect) I'm only thinking that people who have no horse in the race posting on a public forum may jeopardise things in some way?

If someone stole something from you and it was recovered a few months later, but a few people had lost out because of it, would you as the original owner not be miffed when asking for "time to sort things out" if other people not involved then started sticking their oar in?

Maybe I'm wrong and it should be a free for all but as far as I'm concerned the only people who have any say in this are the affected few.

I have to say I agree with where Nick is coming from with this. The wishes of those affected should be respected at least until everything has been worked out and the dust has settled.

Generally this forum is pretty good but I can think of a few occassions when comments have been made by people with no horse in the race that have been jumped on by the mob. For Sale threads generally seem to be the worst affected, often those created by new members or those who post infrequently which isn't very welcoming. Zpeakabonk, the guy selling the NIB Hurricane and more recently Pinball UK have all been given a hard time. These are all instances I feel were unjustified and out of order.

You have answered a different question to the one I asked. My question was, "Why is it relevant to pinballinfo.com as a neutral pinball forum, in any way, what phil asked for?" ....the response.... "Quite simply because it was his stolen machine." does not answer that question. This is pinballinfo.com, not pinballheaven.com. Once again, what has the fact that it was Phil's stolen machine got to do with whether or not it is discussed on pinballinfo, other than because of personal friendships?

Besides which, Phil was the one to reopen the topic of conversation in the other thread by making a post that impied it was all sorted. Also stating in reply to @Paul that the police had been contacted. Then when Fintan Stack pressed, saying the opposite. Then saying the transport company didn't want to make a fuss (implying it was going to be left at that). And it was only when Fintan pushed more that Phil said he was going to contact the transport company, then he asked (well, he didn't ask, he started SHOUTING) for the topic to be closed. The whole post does not add up.

Might I respectfully suggest that folk on this forum who have not been involved in the relevant buying and selling of this TOTAN keep shtum.

Phil mentioned some time ago that one had been stolen. This was a perfectly reasonable thing to do given the potential for folk on here to come across this game

Moderators, please shut this TOTAN story down, so the affected parties can sort this between themselves

Surely the next time we third parties need to hear anything more about this is when it is fully resolved so the relevant facts can be shared.

My best wishes to the honest folk caught up in all this, I hope you get it sorted satisfactorily

That is getting to the stage where I would consider modding a thread. This should be about the sale of an item not an investigation or finger pointing. If we are showing respect, let us not dig here or call people mafiosa. If I was caught up in this mess I wouldn't want to have to deal with other peoples speculation.

Guys,

Will people PLEASE stop keeping on about any affiliation or sympathies to any one particular party.

This Forum does NOT have any affiliation with Any supplier. i can categorically state that i have met Phil Twice (probably unbeknownst to him!), and i have never knowingly met Tyke or Dreads. To insinuate that there is any such link to anyone, or specific allegiances, Is just plain incorrect.

Phil started the thread about the stolen Machine - and requested it locked. That is the same with any other thread - if the OP requested something LOCKED then we do that - always have done, always will do.

The other Thread that was closed was because it was veering off course and had a lack of facts, and many accusations.

On a topic like this, with potentially libelous situations, we have to be very careful.

IF Phil, Dreads, or Tyke Wish to add a comment to the post, i will more than hapilly unlock it or give them the rights to do so and to add anything new to it.

If people want us to moderate this place with an iron fist, i will spend time to create an all-encompassing T&C's and then ban the asses off of people that step out of line.

This aint pinside.... but it could be....we are very lenient here, however if the PC brigade want to start...

Given that a silver condition playfield would have cost you £660 to buy from CPR direct if they had any left in stock (plus tax) then this is a pretty decent deal for anyone that wants one
