NIB Stern Pro / Premium - What are the must have upgrades

In your opinion what are the must have upgrades from the get go on NIB Stern Pro's and Premiums ?

From what I gather out the box the Pinballs need binned and replaced, and Coil Stops need purchased.

So what are the must further upgrades, I am thinking they are,

Upgraded Speakers
Speaker Light Kit
Side Art Blades / Mirror Blades
Shaker Motor
Quiet Fan Kit

Then possibly powder coating the armour, or replacing for upgraded armour. Hate the look of the stock thin black rails also tbh.

Anything else I have missed out ?

It depends how fussy you are. Stock speakers sounded fine on all my Stern Pros, but felt like I had to change them on Godzilla. I'm oblivious to noisy fans when playing the game.

Speaker lights can add glare/reflection, they look nice but not necessary.

I'll always put side art/mirror blades on any Pin I own. They just seem to finish that part of the game off.

Low reflective glass is nice but wasn't even a thing until fairly recently so not really necessary in my opinion.
 
There are no 'must haves'

There are mods that are 'nice additions', invisiglass, shakers

there are mods that are not really needed, better speakers, quiet fans

And then there are undercab LEDs, side blades, laser cut armor, beverage holder, powdercoated anything, LEDs in speakers

I suppose you are right actually nice additions are what I should have included in the title rather than must haves. I guess I am leaning towards must haves as the Stern's are so stripped down. Yet really the nice additions don't affect gameplay and therefore the experience when playing is the same.

I'm just a grumpy old man who has been collecting for a l o n g time
If it is not on the playfield, I just don't see the point
I do have a Spiderman that has factory lasercut side armor, a molded shooter rod, aluminum topper, and a shaker
The shaker is nice. But none of these make me play any better
 
All mine get as standard :

Shaker motor
col's protectors,
Coin door plaque
Upgraded speakers, plates and lights, art blades or mirrored depending on titles.
Colordmd if older title

Rubbers, balls and a good clean too of course 😉.. Other than that depends on the mods available iam not a big playfield mod lover but have some like cemetery arch/snake on metallica

Side Art Blades / Mirror Blades ?
 
Yeah art blades or mirror blades depending on the game, maiden has gold mirror blades, metallica silver, twd, mando, bksor art blades.. 👍
