Found a good (for limited time) supply of exact spec bridge rectifiers for WPC games

£2.66 each, of 5 for £12

Just in case you're still curious, a bridge rectifier converts an AC (alternating current) wave-form into a rough DC one - its arrangement of diodes only allows current to emerge at the '+' terminal. It usually requires further smoothing-out with a large-value capacitor, but the rectifier performs the initial conversion.
