I’ve been reading some good threads on numbers of pins etc. My advice is keep as many in the house as possible and you will eventually get a pinshed so you can start collecting in the house again.

I got this finished today and got my latest broken eBay purchase in ……

Looks amazing. All this has got me looking at garage conversion threads 😂
Yes - looks great. We'd love to put something in the garden, but no-one (builders, landscapers etc..) is interested. They won't say why, but just turn up then disappear without quoting. I'm assuming it's the difficulty with access - through the garage with only a standard rear door and no other access via neighbours etc.. That and a large demand for builders locally with likely far easier and more profitable projects.

The garage would be ripe for converting due to a new proper roof and easy to insulate (house attached one side and neighbour's extension attached the other). Unfortunately there's the small matter that the car lives in the garage, and that is definitely not going to sit outside on the drive, despite there being room for it.

Will just have to stick to 2 pins inside. At least both Pinball Republic and The Pinball Office are both relatively easily accessible to play other pins. 🙂

These things come in 3ft panels fully insulated all round so could be carried through a standard door assuming no tight corners. I got this as they don't insist on pile driving through my new resin patio. They can be put anywhere. DM me if you want to know who installed it.

I've gone air con / heat exchanger plus a dehumidifier to kick in it fails. The pins are living a better life than me.

I had a comedy situation with the electrics. I asked for each wall to be on a separate circuit so I don't end up with 7-8 machines plus beer fridge on one circuit (and it not working). A misunderstanding meant they installed a 10 way fuse box with all seven sockets on a separate circuits. Talk about overkill but it's good for me.

Thanks for the offer of providing detail of your installers.

The problem isn't the cabin itself - we'd already found a good supplier who could get it through the garage - same one I think that @Neil McRae used for his.

The issue is sorting out a suitable base. Location would be the far end of a long (200 foot) garden which is on a slight slope away from the house, so needing to get plant in for earthworks to prep for a concrete base - we were looking at a 4m x 11m cabin. We've also investigated the use of ground-screws as an alternative to a concrete base, but this has issues with both cost and a lot of major tree roots in the area from some pretty large trees surrounding the location (70 foot willow, 60 foot oaks, and numerous large conifers and established apple trees etc..).
