Thanks again to @carl lawrence, I am really happy with the Gorgar :D

Done a few minor maintenance items on her

Fitted Luke Wells NVRAM (no more batteries!)

Replaced a couple of lamp sockets in the back box and soldered 2 that were never soldered from the factory! (as in they were stapled, but never soldered to the wires, so they never lit up)

Put some green LED's in the backbox for the logo, red LED's for the Gorgar and white LED's anywhere that a bulb was placed too near to the display wires. Those are probably the only LED's I am doing, it just makes the logo and Gorgar stand out abit more and will make the GI circuit and backbox run a little cooler

Reconnected the knocker

Reconnected the right sling shot

New coil sleeves for the pop bumpers and slingshots

Cleaned switches for the slings and pops

Adjusted the spinner

Balanced the sound so that Gorgar's voice was more audiable

Set her up as steep as she will go.

Waxed and polished the playfield 3 times to a mirror finish

With the pops and slings made more lively and the super shiney waxed playfield, it plays AMAZINGLY fast now. I really need to find my tripod and make a video, you won't believe how crazy fast it plays now

Love it!

Luke, what was that wax you use called again? Ta

Great job by the way, looking forward to playing it ;)

Sorry about the GIs in the back and the slingshot ,I thought it was all working:(

I did say it plays a bit of animal ;)

I struggled to get a pic to show how shiney the playfield was then !! good look with that now:thumbs:

Nothing to apologise about @carl lawrence, these were just minor tweaks. I am perfectly happy with the machine and overall the condition was exellent. Let me know if you are ever selling anything else :D

Wow. Could I ask what your waxing technique is please ? Power tools ?

I don't have anything exciting to say here, I just do it by hand.

Apply the wax with the provided sponge. The important step now is leaving it to dry for as long as possible. The dryer the better.

Buff it off with a white towel

If you want re-apply a second and/or third coat and repeat the process. I can't see any further improvement after a third coat, so 2 or 3 coats is the max you need.

In fairness to the Gorgar, the playfield was already nice when I got it, so I just added some extra sheen. Massive difference to the speed though!

I've done the same with other more worn playfields, such as my Blackout at the arcade club, and you can still make them really fast and shiney, even with wear

found some auto glym super resin polish in father in law garage
dame its good stuff just brought up bdk playfield from a bit dull to a high gloss ,going to put the wax on later

I was always told to avoid products such as auto glym as they contain petroleum distillates which can be harmful to the pf over time. Stick to novus and carnuba wax. I use treasure cove but to be honest with all of people's super duper fangled methods of polishing I can't see much difference. Good old novus
