OK - I have some free time this week and am FINALLY gonna start tidying up the Dude. I know some of you love work in progress pics so heres a few.

Replicas had most kindly provided me with Classic Arcades replacement decals for the Mixmaster ....top man  ... so I'd decided to start with that. The ones on mine were peeling off and shedding glitter all over the playfield ! :eeek:

So started with the green section.

Not sure how it was applied at factory, but the result now is the layer of glitter stuck to the plastic housing and the green lacquer (? ) peeling off the top. So I blasted a load of Maplins Label Remover on it, and with a combination of fingernail and back of a knife was able to scrape off it all . Glittery gunk now stuck all over hands and camera :rolleyez:

So once all off, ready to apply new decals

The new decals aren't exactly the same - they are more holographic glittery foil type stuff rather than actual glitter, but the effect is close enough. Sizes were close enough to original, although I had to trim the bottom of the front small one - but that might of been me positioning it a fraction too low

Pleased with result though, much tidier.

Now that bit has turned out fine I'll crack on with the rest of it now - whole Mixmaster being pulled out and rebuilt

The original had turned very messy, not what you want on a clean playfield.
I think the replacements are going to look great and be close enough to the original as possible these days. I think you are like me and would prefer it playable and reliable than completely OEM so good work me thinks.:hand:

Nice work Sgt, I think the new decals look really good. Almost prefer it to the original as your not going to have glitter going everywhere. Any joy finding the plastics you were after for the Dude?
