So I wasn't quite sure where to post this...it's not quite a Wanted Ad yet, but it's quite close, but it goes in General pin chat for now.

How long does it take for used Stern's (such as Metallica :) ) to reach our home market? And do new pin's loose value like a new car, or do they just maintain their original price as the *new* supply dries up; so is it better to just go for a new one rather than thinking you might get a few hundred off a few months after release?

I pondered that the other day before deciding to order a Star Trek, couldn't be bothered waiting for a nice used one to appear so ordered new (will be my first NIB), even though it will get the 'out the sale room door' immediate value drop...

It all depends on new sales numbers in UK and popularity for a game I reckon... six months then an odd one may appear? Got my Tron used but rarely seen another. Some Stern's such as Spiderman seem to be approaching if not exceeding their original new cost.

If you're bothered about value dropping, suppose you'll have to suss how many other people like the game as well as you ! If it is and remains a popular title, in time who knows, may rise back to what it cost you in the first place....

Well there is a Metallica on ebay that has 250 plays - £4050. Think it was offered to group for £3950. So, unless you have a very hot LE title, you will lose money, but compared to cars and all tech equipment it will be way less.

Think it really depends on the title. I've only seen 1 AC/DC so far. Also I suspect another big factor is what new releases there are. If a good enough game comes onto the market then I suspect more older ones will be up for sale.

Totally depends on the title. The ones you see for sale all the time are generally not as well liked as the ones you don't see.

Andy Heighway has a Metallica pro for sale at a good saving from new. He's great at sourcing new sterns at cut down prices.

ColorDMD posted this pic recently. A hint to their first colour dmd being for Metallica perhaps?

Mailed Andy yesterday, SMSd him today, no reply yet...god forbid I'm going to have to pick up the phone and talk to someone!

Andy is not the easiest person to get a hold of.

Yeah he has been known to pop out of the country from time to time.... I think he's probably in the States at the moment coz Expo is on and he'll be looking for buyers of Full Throttle.
