Quick question.

I have seen a few people on here with the newer Stern machines changing songs on Iron Maiden to alternative ones.

So my question is can a song be changed to another Metallica song I like that isn’t currently on the machine.

Yes pinball browser software will let you do this. I recall you have to be very specific about song lengths having to match up if you didn't want it to end too early or have no sound at the end. @Mfresh had alternate tracks on his Metallica

Yup you can change any song to any other one, but the lengths need to be the same, so that may involve cutting your new track if it is longer, or looping it if it is shorter. You need to use something like Audacity to get the length just right. Metallica just sounds like shouting to noise to me so I changed my MET to feature some nice music instead. @Neil McRae dumped the shouty Iron Maiden din on his and replaced it with some smooth disco sounds.

@Neil McRae decimated Iron Maiden with the crappy Disco tracks - heinous . Most owners change Metallica songs with other favourite Metallica songs. You can update the screen text on Metallica to match the song name but not on Maiden...
