Hi all,

I will be starting a full MB restoration shortly and am wondering whether to keep things stock or change the colours as per below. I am thinking option 2 would look nice with the PF down and machine built.

Would welcome your input.

Option 1

As per stock i.e. satin black for internals of Cab and B Box.

Option 2

Internal parts of the cab and back box in a matching blue to that of the decal blue. Rear of cab and B Box Satin black

Thanks

Any restoration needs to be back to stock or it isn't a resto.

True, but technically my replacement clearcoat PF and polished side rails lock down bar LEDS etc fall foul of the definition too. Not to mention colorDMD.

I just want to create a fab MB that holds its value. I think when Manny did a high end refurb on one of these he painted the inside purple.

If it's nice it will hold it's value, (even if it's a dog it will still hold it's value) no one is going to turn down a really nice MB because they don't like polished side rails or the cab is a different colour inside, do what you think looks best for your own personal pleasure, don't worry about the rest, it will all work out fine and dandy.

Wise words

The couple who came to collect a TZ from me tonight were definately pro STD. I think I will be going this way afterall, I will be putting mirror blades in anyway. :D

Couldn't agree with Judge Dreads more.

In my case it's a no brainer as mine is a cheapo R&B. I can understand people being hesitant with a 'premium' table like a MB though. Personally I think the blue would look really nice and I doubt anyone is going to haggle you down on price just on that basis alone. It certainly wouldn't deter me from paying the going rate for one, and anyone asking for a knock down price just on the basis of colour is probably taking the p*ss.
