Experienced matchplay set up this week end with a tablet and several large screens. All connected. Matchplay in use. Using win over score for result.

Really enjoyed it and would like a similar set up myself. Just 1 large screen and a tablet to control. I have a spare iPad or fire 10 to choose to use, might be easier if it was the fire as its the kids old one

How do I connect them , just mirror displays ? would like to maybe show video at same time / other displays on the big screen could be an option.,

End of year sale coming up so would like to get anything I need then

Any advice greatly received

The tablets aren't really controlling anything, they are just interfacing with the matchplay website which does all of the work for you, the displays will be displaying a webpage which matchplay provides for big displays, it's all hosted on matchplay. There's no mirroring from devices.

If you want a TV/display in your games room to display matchplay you can get a raspberry pi and program it to display one website when it boots (there's plenty of easy to follow guides and a Pi can cost less than £100 depending on what specs it is)
The little TV in our pinroom is set to display our iScored page which tracks high scores on the games, but then I remotely alter the Pi to show matchplay when we have a comp (If you don't know what iscored is, this is our page that represents our game room which players can add scores to using their phones https://www.iscored.info/DaveTheTrain )

You could also just hook up a laptop or PC to the tv using HDMI and use that to display the matchplay page.

It really depends on what you'll use it for day by day, you won't be running a matchplay comp 24hours a day 365, but may use it to display fun things like iscored.

Matchplay is free to sign up and play with. You'll only hit a pay wall if you want to run certain formats or amounts of players so it's worth playing with to see what you can do and how you'll use it. Always happy to advise or help :)

Thanks David for that info, i do have a RPI4 i’m not using atm. I will purchase a big screen in the NY sale and use one of the tablets here for input . That way i can mount it local for access
I am not very good with computer set up regarisng the Pi though i’m afraid, do you know of a link you could suggest that is idiot proof to follow ?

With this system i guess i don’t need to bother with Scorbit ?
Can players use the tablet instead of phones to update the the system ?

I followed this guide.
You'll need a PC/laptop to set the pi up and access it if you need to change the website your pi is showing.
I've never used a Pi till this one so that guide was my first experience so I think you'll be ok.

Had it working a year now with no issues, if we have a comp I'll log onto the Pi via my PC and edit the URL to be the Matchplay page then edit it back after.

You could try set your pi up now plugged into a TV or monitor and a random webpage. I had a spare tv on my floor while following the guide so I knew i had it working before i plugged it into the wall mounted TV

I don't have scorbit, seemed too expensive when you've got lots of games, I guess you can use one or the other.
With iscored players can visit the website and add their scores on their phones or use a tablet. (Or you can put QR codes on the games to make it even easier) All you do is tap the name of the game, then put your score in (you can set it to require a photo of needed). iscored costs but it's a one time small charge and plenty of customisation and updates with new features every few weeks.

Edit: I see the guide doesn't say about how to initially set up a pi, but there's a link early on that takes you to a guide for that first step
