Today's headline, in the Sunday Times, told me Martin Amis, the author has passed away.
It brought back memories of playing pinball in his bachelor pad in Notting Hill and how flattered I was when he told me he had based one of his characters in his latest novel on me. When he got married I heard less from him. His wife was not a fan of pinball and refused to let him spend £350 on a Fathom!
In other sad news, Pete Brown, who wrote 'Sunshine of Your Love' and many more great songs for Cream and and others, passed away. I have been a fan for many years and he lived locally.
