Marcos Specialities Shipping Update

I just noticed that finally Marcos have done something about their outrageous international shipping fees. It looks as if they have teamed up with FedEx and their charges for us folk over the pond have significantly dropped, which is excellent news. Just thought I'd share as hasn't been mentioned yet and I know a lot of people (myself included) have avoided using them just for the cost of shipping.

I used the iGlobal service for a few things earlier this month.

Bit of advice - select the custom fees paid version. I didn’t and got hit with an admin fee far greater than the VAT due.

I assumed the VAT would be within a personal allowance - but seems you get a VAT hit for 1p, plus admin.

Took a little while - but as you say - reasonable fee.

Whoops.... I chose not to pay the VAT/Duty as it seemed quite a lot so was gonna chance it and see what happened on delivery

I don't think I've ever looked at a vat/duty bill of any sort and though 'oh that's reasonable'

I bought some unobtanium (elsewhere that I could find) metal board standoff clips from them earlier this month. Tracking wasn't brilliant but it did turn up in about 10 days and was only £6.06 for shipping
