Hey gang
Thought I’d post pics on here of my new cave. I moved house just over two years ago but actually tombstoned all the pins in April 2019 in preparation for the move.
Some great friends bailed me out for staorage over the years @BigBear77 and @Dave Playman thank you so much.

The new house has a double garage which is a nice space but the cost of moving, then unexpected bills and COVID meant building the mancave was delayed and delayed.
As with anything there is compromise. In this case 50% of the space is storage because I’m a massive hoarder.
Bigdug to the rescue.
Still shuffling things around for the best setup and yet to setup all the pins. Just waiting for some assistance this weekend from @Dave Playman
So here’s a couple of pics of the progress so far. Can’t wait to get flippin’ again.

SDS drill with chisel attachment is your friend
I did consider that but frankly it scared the life out of me after opening up the first chimney breast. The tiles came up pretty easily by hand although I'm now the noisy neighbour apparently. Cast new concrete steps yesterday too. Will have to do a thread on it once it's finished. I certainly miss my old mancave!!! Unfortunately the price of downsizing to live by the sea.

I like BigDug and I cannot lie! (Do you think he'll come north to do mine? 😁)
This is really interesting for me. Wrestling with wanting to convert the integral double garage, but panicing about what the hell to do with the crap that is in there now, and where to do any true 'garage' jobs, if I convert it.
So, wondering whether there is some sort of halfway house.
I'm so 'Pindecisive', it's killing me!

Haha. I bought a 14x8 shed and threw all the stuff from the garage in there. Anything that won’t fit is going on the bigdug 🤣. Just do it mate. You’ll be forced into figuring out a solution in quick time and it’ll all be fine 🤔

I got it from a company local to me called Duramat. Was £700 for a double garage pack. They deliver for about £40 nationwide.

What needs to be done about heating etc? Worried about pins getting damp or 'extreme' temp changes - thoughts?

Oh, and I like the JFDI approach - I am coming round to that!
The walls, floors and ceiling are insulated with celotex within an inch of their lives. I have 2 oil filled rads I’ll tick over in the winter. If it’s anything like my old single garage with the same insulation, I put the rad on for an hour before I went in there and it stayed warm all night and never dropped below 10 degrees. Humidity is the most important thing to keep regulated.
I’ve had an extractor fan installed as well to circulate the air.
I’ll see how it goes this winter and can install a rad easily if needed.

Sounds about right to me.

I love it!
When do we get an invite?
I haven't played a real Funhouse yet.

Where did you get the stools?

Mate you are pretty local to me. Hit me up.
The Rolling Stones Stools were a lucky eBay find, collection only in a village in deepest darkest Norfolk. Luckily a mate from work lived in that village and picked them up for me so got them for about £40. The cushion covers have torn in several places since i got them though using them to support pins when I put the legs on 🙈.
The Williams one was from pinball heaven.

What garages were made for and a great lineup😎
Looks really good in black and like those lights that go behind the pins, great job👍

Ive got 2 of those stools from pinball heaven, they look good in a pinroom but expensive😬

I'll have a look at those stools, still quite sometime before I can start work on my pinroom😔
